This touched me on a personal level, as it was also the main reason I wanted to move to a bigger city. To this day, the idea of being at the center of human advancement is what urges me to move to a true global city like New York, London, Paris, or Tokyo. I still believe that the human interactions and discussions that take place in a city are what drives innovations. However your article made me reflect on that. I believe that if new innovators from Generation Z are successful in progressing in a field such as technology, this could be the end of bid cities as an incubator for innovators. If unlike me, the next generation believes that you do not need to live in a metropole to be at the center of human advancement, then they will make their choice of residence based on different factors (proximity to nature, housing space, family, etc.). Thank you for this thoughtful article.
